Educational Environments
The Ark environments are designed to invite children into a safe, well-planned home away from home.
We have carefully planned each classroom and activity area, selecting the best quality educational resources.
We ensure that our nursery environments are stimulating yet restful, colourful and harmonious.
Our Ark has its own greenhouse, garden and small animal farm.
Part of our commitment to the environment includes teaching children where food comes from,
supporting them to take responsibility for caring for the food and animals that they grow to eat.
Encouraging children to create and enjoy nutritious meals forms a core part of providing an ideal early childhood learning environment.
Examples of how we practice sustainability at our Ark include:
Educating children in the natural decomposition cycle through exposure and participation in worm farms and composting food scraps in our gardens
Educating children and having them participate in ‘Playground to Plate’ activities i.e.:
seed planting and sprouting, weeding, nurturing vegetable gardens, caring for small animals and cooking amongst other activities.
Educational Program
The Ark Academy prepares children with the skills needed to be a successful person.
Our program provides the implement of project-based learning across science, technology, engineering, art, math, music, sports, cooking, etiquette, manners, and agriculture.
Here at The Ark, we assist each child in building a habit of concentration! In a rapidly changing society, we all are students at some time in our lives. A deep, persistent, and abiding curiosity is a prerequisite for creative learning. By providing children with opportunities to discover qualities, dimensions, and relationships amidst a rich variety of stimulating learning situations, curiosity is developed and an essential element in creative learning has been established.
